Internet Training Special

by Flo Janes

Because we have had such great response to our Internet trainings, we are now offering a special rate. Have you seen the TV commercial about a guy having his best day ever? He has a date on the same night that he has a presentation for a client in another state. His demonstration went great, and he was able to keep his date because he did his presentation over the Internet.
Well, our training can work the same way. You can stay at your computer in the office or at home, while we are at Datacon letting you view our screen remotely. Basically, we are sharing our computer with you through an Internet connection. You have control, so you can work on the dental system and we can watch what you are doing.
We know times are tough right now, so we are reducing our usual rate to a special, low price of $75.00 an hour, a savings of $35.00. If you use your training discount coupon, your first hour will be free! The beauty of training on the Internet is:

  • No one has to travel, thereby saving time and expense for everyone.
  • We can break the training into different sessions. If you want training on the recall system, we can focus on that. A couple weeks down the road, you may want to work collections and learn all the shortcuts and cool tricks your system has to offer. We can do these trainings at different times, rather than overwhelming you with all of the areas at the same time.

Give us a call if you’re interested in taking advantage of this great training method!

Endodontic Study Group

by Flo Janes

Mark your calendars - May 20th, 2009…Datacon is holding the second in a series of seminars to demonstrate how your endodontic practice can become a paperless office!
This study group provides an excellent opportunity for our endodontic clients to analyze the tools your Datacon system provides, and make educated decisions in your endeavor to go paperless.
Join us on Wednesday, May 20th!

Daylight Savings Time is about to begin…

Don’t forget to turn your clocks forward one hour on Sunday, March 8th. To set the time in your Datacon system, SELECT System Stuff from the Main Menu, then Change Date or Time, then Spring Forward. This will automatically move your time forward by one hour. This is a privileged function, so if you aren’t able to make the change, the doctor or office manager may have to do it for you.

Time for a little “Spring Cleaning”

by Julie Thompson

Our Customer Support Team has had the opportunity to view some of your systems while helping you with various tasks. We have noticed that some systems could benefit from a little “Spring Cleaning.”
Items that raise a red flag for us are screen after screen of outdated recall, outstanding insurance forms, and old User Defined Lists, to name a few.
One thing that should always be monitored is system access. As more employees connect to Datacon from home via pcLink, it is vital that when an employee leaves your practice, you restrict their access immediately. To do this, simply remove their initials from the Datacon and Time Clock user files. This prevents that employee from entering your system using their user logon. The steps are very easy to do and will give you peace of mind for the security of your software.
Much like any other cleaning, tidying up your data files is not a task you or your staff are necessarily clamoring to tackle! Why not allow the Datacon Team to clean it up for you?
Our support team will get on your system via modem or DSL, run programs to remove old data, clean up the User Defined Lists, inactivate old patients, and run a few diagnostic programs to keep your system running at its best!
The charge for this service has been discounted to $80.00 per hour. The cleanup usually takes about two hours, however some systems may require more time. We will work quickly and efficiently to make your system run smoothly.
Give us a call today to schedule your “Spring Cleaning!”

In Memory of Art Amos, D.D.S.

On February 20th, Datacon lost a very dear friend of over 20 years. Art was an avid pilot and loved to travel, flying himself and others to many destinations, as well as flying our trainers to some of our distant client locations. He was a loving father and grandfather, and his family was very important to him.
Art’s first wife Margie worked for Datacon from 1988 through 1993 and then was suddenly taken from us in February 1998. Art later married Nathalie, a good friend of Margie and Art, who also worked for Datacon from 1988 through 2003.
With all of his connections to Datacon, we have always considered Art part of the Datacon family, and as such, will be greatly missed by all of us.
